Medical Imaging, Processing & Analysis

The image acquisition for diagnostic and planning purposes has become a crucial tool in healthcare. MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound images, X-rays, mammography and other image modalities are utilized by clinicians in order to accurately diagnose a disease and efficiently plan a treatment. Form image formation to the final analysis, medical imaging is still facing challenges. New imaging technologies, such as terahertz radiation, and innovative algorithms could overcome the inefficiencies and provide more reliable image data to the medical experts.
