Infrastructure Creation of Basara, Nuzivid and RK Valley Campuses of RGUKT

When Prof Raja Kumar joined as the VC, the first of the academic blocks and a boys and a girl’s hostel of Phase-1 works were nearing completion. Rest of the Phase-1 buildings were at various stages of construction. The construction activity continued, Prof Kumar was overseeing the same and ensured completion of the Phase-1 buildings.

Prof Kumar personally planned the Phase-2 constructions including the departmental buildings the engineering and science labs, workshop complex & lab complex, library, hospital, main campus gates, water plants and a massive Student Activities Center (SAC) at every campus. Apart from the plans, he made the architectural sketches for these buildings and provided the architects with these. The SAC building plan made by Prof Kumar was unique and it was made to cater to all of the indoor as well as socio-cultural activities of the students. The massive indoor basketball court was designed to serve different purposes including Yoga, meditation and to house socio-cultural events. The workshop complex & lab complex and every dept building were specially designed to be the most modern. With the objective of providing every campus with adequate space to take the future requirements, he spearheaded procurement of another 128 acres of land for the Basara campus. Procurement of 100 acres for Nuzvid campus ran into difficulties at the district office. Part of the phase-w works like the workshop & lab complex were fully completed and rest of the works were half-way through during the time of Prof Raja Kumar.
