Select Activities on Curricular Designs and Workshops

  • Series of lectures on implementation of NEP – 2020 in Higher Education.
  • Chairman of the committee and the chief architect of the undergraduate curricula of IIT Kharagpur, 2007 implemented from the batch of 2008.
  • The chief architect of the BTecha nd Masters curricula of RGUKT, Basara, Nuzvid and RK Valley, that has been in operation from inception in 2010.
  • Creator of the ‘ICT based hybrid pedagogy of RGUKT’ for BTech and Masters curricula of RGUKT, Basara, Nuzvid and RK Valley, that has been implemented since inception in 2010 and grew to 20,000 students undergoing at any point of time in 2014 onwards.
  • The chief architect of BTech and RGUKT’ for BTech and Masters regulations of RGUKT, Basara, Nuzvid and RK Valley, that has been implemented since inception in 2010 and grew to 20,000 students undergoing at any point of time in 2014 onwards.
  • Responsible for introducing and personally designing and creating new BTech and MTech programmes, cutting edge at IIT Kharagpur, RGUKT and IIT Bhubaneswar.
  • Organizing Chairman, Workshop on "Model Credit based Semester System" for Vice-chancellors and Heads of Institutions on Dec. 2, 2003 under the aegis of AICTE at IIT, Kharagpur.
  • Participated in curriculum review workshops as member Board of studies or expert and helped in curricula design of several institutes including NIT, Warangal, NIT, Rourkela, ISM, Dhanbad, JNTU, Hyderabad, Delhi University, IGNOU.
  • Reforms in Undergraduate Academics: Responsible for bringing several innovative reforms in the undergraduate regulations of IIT, Kharagpur such as creating flexibility including migration from B.Tech. to Dual degree, review of scholarships and initiation of new ones, review of institute awards etc., during 2003-2006.
  • Participated in several Panel discussions such as "Encouragement of Innovation in Academic Institutions", "Prospects of teaching elementary DSP at school level" and How global is our engineering education?" etc., in several Conferences and Workshops
  • Participated in curriculum review workshops as member Board of studies or expert and helped in curricula design of several institutes including NIT, Warangal, NIT, Rourkela, ISM, Dhanbad, JNTU, Hyderabd, Delhi University, IGNOU.
  • Handled a project on "Archives on Technical Education" at IIT, Kharagpur as Chairman during 1999 to 2002.
  • Headed a team of senior professors in revising and framing the undergraduate curricula of IIT, Kharagpur, which was put in practice since July 2006.
  • Responsible for introducing several new courses out of which some courses such as "Engineering Entrepreneurship" and "Environmental Science and Engineering" were introduced at own behest.
