I am Jeevanjyoti Chakraborty. I am an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. I joined here in August, 2016.
I work on the mathematical modelling of various situations involving fluid mechanics and solid mechanics, coupled occasionally with bits of electrochemistry. Currently, the prime focus of my work is investigating issues of diffusion, growth and stress in silicon anode particles of lithium-ion batteries. Earlier, I have also worked on mathematically modelling fluid flow through deformable confinements exploring various interfacial phenomena.
A brief outline of my academic background can be found here.
Prospective Interns: If you are an undergraduate student (from outside IIT Kharagpur) who wants to apply for an internship, please go through this link first.
Due to the online mode of teaching in the Academic Year 2020-21, I have been presenting lectures to the students through videos uploaded on YouTube. Here are three playlists:
Applied Elasticity: YouTube Playlist, Course Website
Advanced Mechanics of Solids (ongoing): YouTube Playlist, Course Website
