Recovering Lost Emails from Google Desktop Search's Cache (Courtsey Mayank Jain)

This post is for you if you

• Have accidentally deleted mails and
• Use Google Desktop Search (GDS) and
• Were fortunate or sensible enough or possibly farsighted [:)] to have enabled email caching in GDS and
• Want to retrieve your mails

Andrew Hardwick has written a very simple and useful script for the above task. His script was tested on GDS version 2 (build 20051208-en). Refer to the instructions given on his page to get the details of the script.

Mayank recently did similar task for me. I was using Google Desktop 5.1.0705.04505-en-pb. The above script worked just fine with slight modifications in the regular expressions. I am uploading the modified script in here.

If you have to get down in Sakrail and then go to Kolkata,best path is go to the right (when traveling from Kharagpur) side of the station and then take an auto to Danesh Sekh Lane. And then you will get the usual buses towards Kolkata.

Peer to peer network related software

• disearch package A software package to perform search algorithm in peer to peer networks. The search algorithm is developed using inspiration from immune systems, hence derive its name disearch (Dresden Immune search). The package is written in C. The readme explains how to run the software. (Publish Date - Dec, 2004)

• pisearch package The equivalent software written in java, using peersim (a freeware) simulator as base. The simulator is also here bundled with the software. (Publish Date - Dec, 2004)
