Debjani Chakraborty
I am a Professor at the
Department of Mathematics at the
IIT Kharagpur. Before 2005 I was in Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) for a span of 8 years, initially started as a DST GoI Young Scientist (Principal Investigator with my own project), subsequently as a Visiting Faculty and and after that as an Assistant Professor. Prior to July 1997 I also worked in some research projects in Reliability Engineering Centre (presently upgraded as Subir Chowdhury School of Quality and Reliability).
I am an alumni of Department of Mathematics, IIT Kharagpur. I joined the department in 1989 as a MSc Student. I got my Ph.D. in 1995 under the auspicious supervision of Prof. JR Rao and Prof RN Tiwari.

Research:
My research area mainly include multi-criteria fuzzy optimisation, application of Fuzzy Logic and Soft Computing in Engineering, Management and Medical Technology, Analytical Fuzzy Plane Geometry, applications of fuzzy geometry in medical image processing.
